I heard this on a TV show recently, and it really resonated. How real are “perfect” lives anyway? We see “perfect” marriages ending in divorce. Were they ever perfect, or do we actually need adversity to build strength?
Is one bad word reason enough to doubt? One difficult season enough to walk away?
I once thought we were living past each other. And then Henriette said something I will never forget:
“We are together because it is meant to be, and nothing will change that.”
In that instant, the glue holding us together set — and became permanent.
It took years before I realised how deeply in love we truly are. Not in spite of the challenges, but because of them. The hard moments didn’t pull us apart — they shaped us, strengthened us, and reminded us what really holds two people together.
