On Friday we woke up in Tzaneen, after a journey that took us over the escarpment and into the beauty of the Lowveld. We came to support the local community in raising funds — but also to recharge our own spirits.
When last did you step away from the city just to breathe? To feel the fresh air as it was meant to be clean, pure, and filtered by nature. Air that restores health, clears the mind, and revives the soul.
Nature does more than refresh our lungs. It teaches us in its beauty, its resilience, its harshness, and its forgiveness.
I often wonder why we choose to cram ourselves into the city, stacked one on top of another, when there is another way a life of balance, serenity, and health.
Perhaps we do it for safety. There is comfort in numbers. Suburbia gives us the illusion of control, the feeling that the unknown can’t reach us there.
But maybe, just maybe, stepping out into the wide open, into nature’s embrace, is where true safety and renewal lie.
