hat do R30,000, a few litres of paint, and a bakkie-load of food have in common?
They all brought hope to a forgotten community this week.
Our time at Lewenskruispad has come and gone, but the impact lingers. PvB & Associates were joined by Jaun and his incredible team from ROC – Repair On Call, who’ve become more than collaborators; they are companions in our mission of love and service.
Together with the PvB and ROC teams, we rolled up our sleeves—repairing electrical and plumbing issues, painting out the dining hall, and delivering bakkie-loads of much-needed food.
We also managed to raise over R30,000 in cash.
But here’s the heartbreak: despite all our efforts, the stark reality remains. Charities like Lewenskruispad face an ongoing struggle—not due to lack of passion or dedication, but due to a lack of government support.
They must feed and care for a vast age range of dependents—from a toddler barely a year old to a senior resident over 85, both abandoned by their families.
Their stories silenced our group. Standing in the recently painted dining hall, choking back tears.
This is not a Mandela Day moment. This is an everyday call to action.
💛 If you feel moved to help, get in touch. Let’s not just be inspired once a year—let’s be involved all year.
Tomorrow we’ll regroup—but our hearts remain behind, with those who still wait for hope to arrive in the form of a warm meal, a repaired pipe, or a kind face.
