One day, today will be one of those “good old days.” So make it memorable. Enjoy every moment. Build memories by doing memorable things.
Take time to appreciate what you can do now—because there may come a day when you can’t do it again. You never really know when your last day of any activity will be.
When I ran my last 10km road race, I was hoping for a personal best under 40 minutes. Life, however, had other plans. As it turned out, that would be the last time I chased a PB on the road.
What I have now are fond memories of a time when I could run fairly quickly. And that’s okay—because now I’m building new memories. New “PBs.” Birds seen. Places visited. A life that has changed, but not diminished.
Yes, our lives change. But we still get to choose the memories we make.
