Not long ago, I wrote about something difficult: the way we sometimes take the people we love for granted. I had to face the truth that even deep love can start to fade into the background when we stop being intentional. That post was my wake-up call, a moment of self-awareness I couldn’t ignore.
This one is what came next:
112 Days
Since that realisation, I’ve written 112 love letters to my wife, one every day. It started as a 21-day challenge to affirm my love and focus on gratitude. Then it became a 40 day commitment. And eventually, it grew into something open ended: a daily practice of presence, connection, and growth.
I’ve learned a lot in these 112 days.
•I’ve learned that consistency matters more than grand gestures.
•That love isn’t just a feeling, it’s a choice, over and over again.
•That growth doesn’t happen by accident.
This practice has reminded me why we’re so special together. It’s made me reflect more deeply, love more intentionally, and keep showing up, even on days when it’s hard.
I know that I’m a work in progress.
I know that life is not always fair.
I know that if something is meant to be, it’s up to me to make it happen.
So I move forward with love.
Love for myself.
Love for Henriette
Love for this life we’re building.
112 days since I stopped taking love for granted.
112 chances to show that I mean it.
And I’m just getting started.
