What a grand palace. We visited with friends who live in Windsor. Lin worked in the castle for many years and served the Royal Family. It was wonderful having them guide us through this amazing museum of royalty.
The castle was home to the Queen for many years and is now her final resting place. The castle is an absolute show of decadence, with collections of baroque art I haven’t experienced since my visit to the Louvre a few years back.
Is it worth visiting?
Absolutely. I loved the history oozing out of every piece—from King Henry VIII’s armor (boy was he in need of vitality; the king was rather rotund!) to paintings from the Renaissance, Tudor, and Stuart periods.
Will the wealthy of today leave such a lasting legacy?
I fear not, Mr. Musk.
